Keep your eyes peeled for the Scarlet Tanager, one of the 50 percent of birds that migrate from the rainforests of Central and South America in the spring and head north to breed in the U.S. and Canada. One was spotted at the birdfeed just outside our kitchen window this week. Feast your eyes on the on the soft peachy colors on the breast and back and the dash of red under the wing of the Scissor Tail Fly Catcher. Grab your binoculars because this bird puts on a truly acrobatic show.
