Wimberley, Texas was established in 1848. Today, the picturesque village is a resort area in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Visitors to Wimberley, Texas are entranced by cool, shady pools beneath towering cypress trees, frothy cascades on the Blanco River and sparkling Cypress Creek, green meadows and majestic hills. They find abundant white-tailed deer and natural wildlife around every corner. There are plenty of events and live music venues available in and around Wimberley. Located 15 miles north of San Marcos, Texas, 25 miles from New Braunfels, Texas, 14 miles from Dripping Springs, Texas, 27 miles from Canyon Lake, Texas, and 25 miles from Blanco, Texas.

Devil’s Backbone is one of Texas’ most scenic drives, officially RM 32, the “Devil’s Backbone” is a winding, razor-backed ridge overlooking Hill Country vistas. It extends from RM 12 just south of Wimberley, Texas west some 24 miles to near Blanco.

Arts and crafts galleries in Wimberley display the many artists and authors who make their homes here. Hill Country scenes captured in oils, handicrafts, hobbies and souvenirs, are available in several quaint shops and studios clustered on and around the Wimberley, Texas “town square” at a casual joining of several roads.

Market Day, sponsored by the Wimberley Lion’s Club is held the first Saturday of the month from March through December. It is a bargain hunter’s paradise for the unusual, one of a kind, hard to find something-or-other you’ve been looking for!
