The Best Lavender Farms in Texas to Visit

Texas may seem a surprising location to find great lavender farms, but when it comes to the Hill Country, you’ll find plenty of the best lavender farms in Texas. Hill Country is actually one of the faster-growing lavender regions in the country. The stunning blooms of this fragrant plant are just about ready to explode with their signature purple hues. While the lavender fields in Provence and the northwestern part of the country tend to bloom in July, the Lavender farms in Texas bloom from May through June.

Spend your days visiting lavender farms, taking in the gentle fragrance drifting through the air, picking your own bunches to take home, and shopping for handmade or culinary goods featuring this signature fragrance. Many of the top lavender farms in Texas have gift shops onsite! Without further ado, here are the three best lavender farms in Texas Hill Country worth visiting this year:

  1. Not too far away from our Texas Bed and Breakfast in Wimberley, you’ll find Rough Creek Lavender Fields. It’s the oldest and largest of the lavender farms in Texas and one of our favorite places to pick fresh lavender. They also have a wonderful gift shop.
  2. Hill Country Lavender was the first of the commercial lavender farms in Texas. It’s located in Blanco, Texas, which also happens to be home to the famous Blanco Lavender Festival held each June. You can cut your own lavender here or choose a range of goods from soaps to culinary delights from their gift shop.
  3. Becker Vineyards, a popular Hill Country winery, is another delightful lavender farm worth visiting. Becker Vineyards is one of the many lavender farms in Texas growing the popular varietal Spanish Stoechas, which grows particularly well in this climate. There are more than 4,000 plants here during peak lavender season – a true feast for the senses! They also host their own lavender festival during the first weekend in May.
