This upcoming weekend is an exciting time to visit Wimberley! Be sure to check out these events if you’re in the area:
Wimberley Arts Fest
This year the Arts Fest will be held at the Waters Point at Rio Bonito.
There will be about 115 booths nestled among the pecan trees and cabins. Food truck aromas will beckon you to relax and have a picnic overlooking the river. A beer and wine booth will help you enjoy your picnic even more. Live music plays continuously and there will be chairs set up for you to rest and listen as you take breaks between art shopping.
Great effort is made to intermix the art so you will see a large variety of media. All of the exhibiting artists are selected by invitation and all of them are experienced and talented. Some come from neighboring states and regions. About 25% are local artists.
Butterfly Festival at Emilyann Theatre & Gardens
This magical event is the perfect way to celebrate spring in the Texas Hill Country. Thousands of beautiful Monarch butterflies are released in batches every 30 minutes.
All activities, crafts, concessions, stores and exhibits open at 10:00 a.m., after opening ceremonies. Butterflies are released every 30 minutes throughout the day beginning at 10:00 a.m.
For a small donation you can entice a butterfly from its cage onto a piece of cantaloupe and watch it enjoy its first delicious taste before flying off to meet friends and flutter throughout the EmilyAnn Gardens.
