Discover the Best Fall Colors in the Texas Hill Country
Jacob’s Well Natural Area
Jacob’s Well is a beautiful artesian spring in Wimberley and serves as the headwaters to Cypress Creek. While swimming isn’t an option in autumn, you can feast your eyes on the beautiful fall foliage. Hike around the park and soak in the showcase of vibrant colors accenting this Hill Country gem.
Blue Hole Regional Park
Cypress trees stretch over the clear, aquamarine waters of the swimming hole at Blue Hole Regional Park in Wimberley. Like Jacob’s Well, swimming is not an option outside of the summer months, but this is one of the best places near the Blair House Inn to view fall colors in the Texas Hill Country.
Hamilton Pool Preserve
The Hamilton Pool Preserve boasts perhaps the best scene of fall colors in the Texas Hill Country. You’ll feel as you are in a private oasis as you walk into this natural theater of limestone outcroppings surrounded by fall foliage. This gorgeous rock structure stands 50 feet over a large natural swimming hole created when the roof of an underground river caved in, leaving this serene grotto-shaped area. Stop by one of the distilleries in Dripping Springs for a refreshing drink after leaving the preserve.
Pedernales Falls State Park
Pedernales Falls States Park is home to a collection of giant rock slabs in the middle of the Pedernales River, creating a series of cascading waterfalls. An accent of fall colors around the edge of the rocks makes the park even more beautiful during autumn. You can also hike, bike, or go horseback riding on the miles of trails weaving throughout the state park.
Fall Events in Wimberley
