What Are Wimberley Market Days?

The first Saturday of every month from March through December, hundreds of vendors and shoppers gather at Lions Field for this outdoor market that boasts the title of second largest in all of Texas. It’s also the oldest outdoor market in Texas Hill Country.

Stroll down pleasant, paved paths shaded by trees as you peruse the wide range of goods on display at various booths. Given the size (there are almost 500 booths) and popularity of Wimberley Market Days, you never know what gems you will discover during a visit! In fact, many visitors plan to spend a full day exploring the market. You can expect to find artisan crafts, antiques, jewelry, baked goods, collectibles, and much more during your visit.

In addition to the vast array of goods, Wimberley Market Days also features a range of delicious concessions as well as live music—making Market Days more of an experience than a shopping excursion.

The Wimberley Lions sponsor all of the food booths and offer plenty of options, including BBQ plates and sandwiches, grilled sausages, breakfast tacos, hot dogs and hamburgers. Lions are hard-put to let anybody at their market go hungry! Visitors can also purchase popcorn, ice cream, funnel cakes, soft drinks, shaved ice and sweets all day long. Local musicians gather at the spacious Lions Pavilion and entertain the crowds who sit in the shade to eat, drink and rest. Once you have explored the market to your heart’s content, the town of Wimberley awaits, filled with plenty of things to do.

Wimberley Market Days are on every first Saturday starting in March and running through December, from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. There is plenty of parking available for a fee of $5, but entrance to Wimberley Market Days is completely free!

The Wimberley Lions Club sponsors Wimberley Market Days, and “all profits from Market Day booth rentals, concessions and parking are donated back to local, state and worldwide charities, scholarships, and community projects.” That means you will be supporting a good cause when you attend!
