Pontotoc Logo

Pontotoc Vineyard was established in the unique terroir of the Llano Uplift in the Northern Hill Country community of Pontotoc, Mason County, Texas. Pontotoc means “Land of Hanging Grapes” and the vineyard was planted in the fertile red sand soil of a high valley surrounded by pink granite outcroppings and sandstone hills on a farm originally founded by the German Emigration Company in 1872.

Texas Hills Vineyard Logo

The rolling hills and the soil are much like that of the Tuscan countryside, in Italy. Once Kathy and Gary saw the location that makes the Texas Hills Vineyard they decided to have an Italian influence to their wines. All of the grapes grown allow wines to be produced with a decidedly Italian influence. Dale manages the vineyard and works to produce the highest quality Texas grapes with which to produce the wine. Gary takes what is produced and oversees the wine. Kathy manages the tasting room and invites you to drop by and sample wines and shop the gift shop.

Sitting at the highest point in Kerr County, overlooking the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Kerrville Hills Winery (KHW) was the first winery established in Kerrville. In 2019, John Rivenburgh purchased Kerrville Hills to establish a communal space for educated winemaking, accelerating boutique operations. John has deep roots in the Texas Hill Country, is an award winning winemaker, and has passion for growing high quality, sustainable Texas grapes. John has been in the Texas wine Industry for over 15 years and currently sits on the Texas Hills Country Wineries Association as the President.

Years of intensive planning have resulted in a winery designed an equipped for the exquisite limited production of Solaro Estate’s wines. The production facility is built adjacent to the vineyards allowing for rapid transportation of the handpicked grapes to the winery during crush to maintain purity and freshness. After a gentle de-stemming process the must is quickly transferred into the waiting temperature controlled tanks for fermentation and then transferred into the finest oak barrels for aging in our cellar.
