An Afternoon at Wimberley Glassworks in Texas
Whether you're an avid art enthusiast or are in the market for a one-of-a-kind gift this holiday season, you can't go wrong with a visit to Wimberley Glassworks. The most popular thing to do at Wimberley Glassworks is to attend one of their live glassblowing demonstrations, which are offered Thursdays through Sundays from 10:30 - 3:00 pm. These demonstrations take place throughout the day, so you don't have to worry about scheduling a time to visit. It's free to watch glassblowing demonstrations at Wimberley Glassworks, but they can also arrange group or private demonstrations for a small fee.
Wimberley Glassworks also offers a covered Make Your Own Ornament class each holiday season. These spectacular classes start on Black Friday and will continue on weekends through December. They are popular, though, so you'll want to book as early as possible. This hands-on experience is exceptional and allows you to choose your own custom colors and shape the piece - with the help of glassblowing experts - so that the product is exactly as you want.
There's also a gallery and exhibit space onsite at Wimberley Glassworks, which allows you to see the range of beautiful pieces made by this company. Talk about a fantastic place to pick up a unique gift item! Their gallery is open every Wednesday - Sunday, from 10 am - 5 pm. While you're there, don't miss their outdoor installation, the Glass Menagerie, which has been grown and created by the artistic minds at Wimberley Glassworks.
